A cinematic essay "Since 2001," Photographed in Gwangju South Korea 2018. Documenting an afternoon at BANDO elderly dance club, situated in the underground parking lot of a shopping mall for obsolete electronic products. "Since 2001" is a glimpse to a retro future, where technology and ageing, west and east are intertwined

On the music of Japanese hits from the 1960s, all engaged in a rather static, knee-bobbing ballroom dance routine. The sedate nature of the dancing is in stark contrast to the decibel level of the music. While trying to grasp the rules of conduct in this new environment, the grasp slowly weakens, and we dive into another reality.
 
Demographically South Korea is ageing faster than any other country, yet there are few post-retirement jobs, or even cheap leisure, available for the elderly. Almost half of the generation that helped rebuild Asia’s fourth-largest economy, from the ruins of the Korean War, is living in poverty. And about a quarter live alone as the Confucian tradition of the younger generation taking care of their parents fades. BANDO is an independent initiative of a couple post-retirement, He is the club's DJ and she runs the restaurant bar.
My foreign presence and the presence of my camera are fracturing an invisible sectoral border placed in the entrance to the club. As a response to the foreign entity there are those who confront the camera with a direct gaze, and those that overpass it, remaining dedicated to the intimacy of their dance.

Since I only have an Israeli passport I could never physically visit Aleppo. There for the only way for me to visit the place my family immigrated from was through the digitalized world. Google is not showing a Street view of Aleppo. So I strolled in images taken by privet people uploaded into Google. In between being a part, and being on the outside , I grew interested in the way the landscape was composed of testimonial images. Proof of the changes the place endured. The voice-over is a superimposed narrative compose out of Google privacy policy and my own.
(Since I Can not read&#38;nbsp;Out loud I'm close friends with the voice of Vicki that is performing the VoiceOver in this video)

The “duplicates paradox” is a thought experiment on the philosophy of identity that challenges some of our common intuitions on &#38;nbsp;the nature of self and consciousness. Summer Day Afternoon, Grass in a park, A group of ultra-orthodox playing football. The work Duplicate deals with the experience of living in a capitalist economy: “Everything we previously might have deemed personal has been subjected to profiling and pattern analysis, and our very feedback mechanism with the world and others are hence changing.”Anselm Franke. &#38;nbsp;Thus the idea of individuality has become commodified and it seems to me that the majority of citizens as well as myself are losing to there/my own reflection and self-imposed rules of the game. On the other end of the spectrum there are my neighbors in Jerusalem and some of my closest relatives that are ultra orthodox that deny the idea of individuality for they regard themselves as agents of God’s word. Out of mistrusts towards the modern individualist world that we all share, they choose to build a community living through shared ideas about its past rather than its present thus rejecting critical thinking and social equality.

Installation created together with Tchelet pearl Weisstub, inspired by the mikveh – the Jewish ritual bath – that was rediscovered in the Ashkenazi synagogue when it was converted into the Jewish Historical Museum in the 1980s Amsterdam. The exhibition explores the evolution of the Jewish bathing ritual from natural caves to tiled floors, creating non-linear connections between Amsterdam’s seventeenth-century mikveh and archaeological sites of mikvehs in and around Jerusalem that date back 2000 years. In Jerusalem, the construction of every new building destroys some relic of the ancient past. The city is therefore constantly faced with the question: what is more important, the past or the present? Archaeology is thus used for nationalist purposes and serves to construct local identities.&#38;nbsp;

Liminal temptation is a video installation, composed of seven video screens dialoguing in a loop.

The Videos exhibit seven Intimate situations happening in public space. The moments captured in the videos resonates A feeling of daily-life slowing down.
In the process of making the work I would travel as an anthropologist, to the “Free-zones”- neglected neighborhoods of Israel.  Photographing as close as I could to a situation without wanting to disturb it. Therefore the materials of the work withhold the tension of A Peeping Tom: “Looking where you’re not supposed to”.  
The work offers a moralistic double edge stored: On the one hand these are intimate moments. On the other they are all happening in public space, and the protagonist are people that society chooses deliberately to leave out of sight.
